A fabulous, environmentally friendly musical. During the summer holidays, the council plans to turn the vacant land adjoining the local school into a car park. Local kids rally to meet the council’s challenge to prove that they can find a better alternative use. Together, they decide to ‘grow their own’ and create a fantastic vegetable garden. The project’s many positive benefits include reducing their carbon footprint, growing fresh and healthy food and most importantly. working together on creating something positive for their community. Items suitable for Prep to Year 6/7 and starring local kids, friends and neigbours, scarecrows, bees, ladybirds, kitchen scrap rappers and the vegetables themselves. The music includes a range of styles and concludes with a terrific showbiz presentation as waiters serve up a veggie feast after the harvest. Celebrate ‘being green’ with dance, drama and song!
